MUSIC - A DIVINE DEDICATION

(Bharat Utsav-a week long mega music carnival organised by renowned music organisation "Carnatica" commenced in Coimbatore on 20.11.2012 at Sarojini Nataraj kalaiarangam,Kikani School, Coimbatore. Sri Balarishi Vishvashirasini inaugurated the music carnival. Few excerpts from her inaugural address)

Pranava is not only the source of all sounds. It is the source of creation itself. This is why all beings on the earth are well connected with music in one way or the other. Music is a path to Nadham. Mantra is also a path to nadham. The Deeksha mantra, bestowed by a guru to a spiritual seeker is the subtle essence of sound sealed and given as a prayoga.

The traditional music of India is an offering to the Ultimate power and not only those who render this divine music but also those who hear this are carried away with pure waves of devotion. It is very obvious that if a person sings about a computer or cell phone, it will not yield such subtle emotions. God is limitless whereas the equipment mentioned have a limited form. So when the music is dedicated to the limitless power, the power of music also becomes limitless.

Music is certainly a path to the Nadham and I wish and pray this series of music programs by renowned artists provide the fulfillment, the bhakthi bhava and a feel of the limitless.
