Dear Balarishi
Some say women are not entitled for sannyas. Some say there is no mukthi for women. How do you see this?
Women are seen as Sakthi. The word Shiva denotes both Shiva and Sakthi because without Sakthi Shiva becomes sava.Whereas with Sakthi,Sava becomes complete and is also known as auspiciousness(mangalam).Shiva is the masculine energy and Sakthi is the feminine energy. The togetherness of these two energies is known as the ultimate fulfillment(pooranam).
The very word Sakthi denotes energy. If we give a physical form to energy, that would be a woman. This is precisely why a woman is capable of producing intense energy, either negative or positive.
In vedic period, women were treated with utmost reverence and recognition.Everywhere they were given utmost priority. They were well versed in Vedas and tantraas. But it is surprising that later it was told that women should not recite vedic manthras. Once, women were so empowered that Suyamvara they had the freedom to choose their life partner.
For instance, the monthly menstrual cycle period of a woman is a natural happening and during that time they are given nutritional food, complete rest and emotional support. It was the time for them to relax and rejuvenate. In later days, this understanding was interpreted in a wrong way and society started isolating women on those days.
Whoever did not want to treat women equally and whoever did not want women to be educated bought in all these differences and disturbed the balance which was the strength of our culture.
As I said earlier, women is seen as Sakthi. Sakthi is the symbol of knowledge. She is the symbol of power. She is the symbol of kundalini. She is the symbol of Aanandha. She is the symbol of motherliness.According to Saaktham, reaching Sakthi is mukthi.
If a woman can use her love and compassion in the right manner, even without meditating she can attain mukthi.Because the love and compassion she beholds will cleanse her to such an extent that those aspects will prove to be a vehicle for her to reach the highest liberation.
