Guru and Karmic Structure

When a seeker tries to intensify his spiritual practice and dissolve his karmic structure,what is the role of a Guru there?

When a person in spiritual path surrenders totally to his Guru,nothing will go wrong.If he overcomes the upcoming ego and surrenders,he will be benefited in so many ways.Because the karmic circle will be minimized by the grace of the Guru.Sometimes,when the seeker is in intensely surrendering,if his Guru wishes,he can do away the bindings of the karmic structure of the seeker.This means the Guru receives certain parts of the karma.
