Can you Judge others?

Dear Balarishi,

Before interacting with a person, judge them.As i judge and observe,i come to know that they are not perfect.I wonder why should i develop the contact with them? Am i right?

Nobody is perfect. In fact, the human life itself is just a travel towards perfection and just a travel.People judge others on the influence of their own whims and fancies. They seldom evaluate their current mindset or maturity.
For instance, let us assume that someone scolded you 15 years back.Even if you see that person today, the same hatred raises up in you. Now,based on the hatred feel, you judge them. For any person and any incident, there will always be another side. But when you have a biased view, negative emotions like hatred and uneasiness gains momentum. So if you are going to judge someone only to get a basic understanding,it is fine.Beyond that extent, judging others will not help.

Even in spirituality, certain people come with their judgements. They have some preconceived notions about spiritual people and come to judge if they fit in to those expectations. They expect spiritual people to be with a tight face, and fiery eyes. Its really funny to watch people who come with such expectation.

Now,basically how do you judge people?By the way they dress,by the way they carry themselves and the way they converse, right? These are not their permanent qualities. They might help you to form certain opinions but they are not the authentic parameters to judge a person and will not take you anywhere closer to truth.

So limit all your judgements to a basic level. Don't count your pain and hatred as the means to interpret the quality of a person. To whichever extent of intensity you start judging others, to that extent you will develop wrong opinions about them.If you keep yourself open and receptive while moving with others, life will provide you wonderful opportunities to learn valuable things. On the other hand,if you keep on judging others,it would be a hindrance to experience life in its own essence
