WHY WE FEEL EMPTY ?

Dear Balarishi,
Right from achievers to ordinary people, all experience a kind of vacuum in one point or the other. Why is this?

Feeling empty is a natural process. Even while you are happy, you feel empty. Even when you are sad, you feel empty. Even without any reason you feel empty. The very basis of this vacuum is having short term aspirations and goals in life. Your mind is focused on temporary things and when such things are either accomplished or lost you think that the whole life is meaningless.

But this feel of vacuum is an arrangement by nature to enhance the quality of your thoughts and life. Soul searching questions, such as, why am i born, what am i doing and deep self analysis starts from this point. You may or my not have self analysis as a practice but whenever you feel empty you indulge in self analysis. Whenever you start questioning yourself your
Attention goes to the higher perspectives of life. Some might try to fill up this vacuum with negative outlets or unwanted habits. Only such hasty decision leads to depression. Otherwise a feel of emptiness can be helpful if handled constructively.

When you feel empty, basic questions about life arises and those questions lead you to the next stages in life. It motivates you to explore the hidden secrets of life. Though everyone may not get into spiritual process through this, these questions will surely purify your thoughts and give a glimpse of the purpose of life.

So instead of enquiring why a feel of emptiness arises, it is advisable to see how that state of mind can be constructively used for your well being. If you handle it properly and use it as a tool for self analysis, you will certainly move to the next phase. A feel of emptiness is only to remind you to move on in your life with greater and nobler aims. On the other hand, if this feel of emptiness is handled negatively it will lead to more and more of depression. Any situation should be used in a way that it compliments your inner growth and development. Feeling empty is also such a situation which needs to be handled with proper clarity.
